SEQWater, through the Wivenhoe Alliance, required a redesign of the Wivenhoe Information Centre, from research to implementation, including initial concepts, copywriting, designs, fabrication, animation, video production, interactive games and display panels. The entire centre needed to be themed around current water and environmental issues.
The project also included 2D and 3D animation, interactive educational games, interactive touch screens, DVD's and a complete theatrette fit out. The theatre is equipped with the latest high tech, automated room control systems, and state of the art video and audio components.
An essential research phase was coordinated by JSA MassMedia, with a local educational expert to copywrite and deliver content for in the information centre. Research included consultation with the local community, researching history records, and biology analysis. The outcome of the research was the copywriting of all the videos, films and audio pieces that supported the project.
From this content, JSA designed & developed the games with educational outcomes.
JSA designed and developed a new 3D animated character, Gus the Gudgeon, to tell the story. The new display includes modern floor graphics reflecting a healthy, flowing river, which visitors follow on their path of discovery.
A series of interactive games were developed to encourage users to interact with water flows, and eco systems to understand the balance of the dam.
The project was delivered within a 3 month timeframe, including the equipment & fitout costs.
